CellTiter-Glo(R) Luminescent Cell Viability

CellTiter-Glo Luminescent Cell Viability Assay is a homogeneous method to determine viable cell number in culture based on quantitation of ATP present, an indicator of metabolically active cells. Designed for use with multiwell formats, the assay is ideal for automated high-throughput screening, cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. Add CellTiter-Glo Reagent directly to cells cultured in serum-supplemented medium---no cell washing, medium removal or multiple pipetting steps. Detect as few as 15 cells/well in a 384-well format in 10 minutes---the result is cell lysis and generation of luminescent signal proportional to the amount of ATP present, which is directly proportional to the number of cells present in culture. The resulting glow-type luminescent signal has a half-life generally >5 hours, depending on cell type and medium. The extended half-life eliminates the need to use reagent injectors and provides flexibility for continuous or batch-mode processing of multiple plates.
